Swimmer’s ear is an infection of the ear canal caused by trapped moisture, often from swimming or bathing. The moisture allows bacteria to grow, leading to irritation and infection.

Swimmer’s ear can be prevented by keeping your ears dry. After swimming or showering, safely remove excess moisture to stop bacteria growth and reduce infection risk.

Using an ear dryer is the safest method. Unlike Q-tips, which can push water deeper or cause injury, ear dryers gently remove moisture without risking damage, helping prevent infections like swimmer’s ear.

Wipe the exterior with a clean, dry cloth. Remove the ear piece and wash it with warm, soapy water or rubbing alcohol. Let it dry completely before reattaching. Store in a cool, dry place. Do not submerge the device in water.
